It is so utterly sad and painful that Fritz Hirsch's complete family was to die in the concentration camps. Once more, a highly talented artist was lost due to the war atrocities. Thank you so much for presenting this brilliant showcase of the operetta company's successful productons!

Thank you for this double recording ! As well as for all the story of Fritz Hirsch - some parts of this production are really well known. The sound of this recording is very good: so distinctive and so clear ! Bravo. Btw. had he anything in common with a well known Berliner musician, Hugo Hirsch ?

Ivan Petrovich (né Svetislav Petrović) was a talented singer and violinist and even was an accomplished athlete, who participated as a swimmer at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm. It is a pity that this skilled artist is relatively forgotten today. It is a delight as well to hear him in the very rarely heard operetta 'Der Orlow'.

This recording is even more fascinating since it features a virtuosic composition by the - sadly - largely forgotten Bohemian composer Heinrich Proch. Thank you very much for sharing these two excellent versions of this lovely, quintessentially German song :-) Irene Ambrus' sparkling coloratura soprano voice is brilliant, and so is consistently reliable, highly skilled Otto Dobrindt, who never dissapoints. Paul O'Montis may be a little less captivating in his own rendition of this tune, but of course Ambrus was so very refreshing and bright here that the comparison might be bit unfair :-) No matter how, O'Montis is very good as well in this performance by an uncredited studio band. I did find though that the latter orchestra was led by Carl Woitschach.

Two great, outstanding artists of the past - in German mode. Really, a double pleasure and a special historical and artistic value. Dziękuję ! Btw. - what adv. photos of those artists, rarity !

I have always loved this sweet song, and both versions are stunning! Austin Egen's orchestral arrangement is utterly refined and delicate, perfect for Emil Roosz's sensitive vocal. As for the Blue Lyres rendition, it is more of a straightforward dance band foxtrot style, slightly less tender, but equally great, wonderfully smooth and polished, and also including a very elegant vocal by a sadly uncredited singer. Thank you so much for presenting these two outstanding renditions that are new to me.

I have never heard this recording/s/... I like very much Leo Monosson & Ben Berlin Orch. ! Such a classical approach of those days and the musical genre - charming. Listened to with pleasure. Baskini with that vocalist seem not to reach the previous level, still interesting as a musical documentation of the period.

Both versions of this wonderful song are superb. Ben Berlin and Leo Monosson's energetic, albeit smooth and refined performance was so great... And then came the equally elegant and polished Baskini version! I am wondering who was the second vocalist. Even if the latter could not reach exactly the same level as Monosson, he was very good too. Thank you so much for sharing!

Both recordings are new to me, heard for the first time, whereas the solista already known. The delicate charm of Paris in the German approach with an English language bridge... well, it is somethings special. Gramophon technique is again top of the notch. Merci, Daniel !

Thank you very much for sharing these two excellent Paris themed songs! The first, sparkling one by the Klavier-Duo Jarochnik mit den Tanzrhytmikern and Helga Wille, was wonderfully refined. My only remark is that it was not entirely in French, but that is a minor detail. The second, dance band rendition, brilliantly performed by Oskar Joost and Theo Mackeben, was a delightfully cheerful march that I thoroughly enjoyed :-)
